Course Objectives

By the end of this workshop, participants should be able to:

  • Adopt the attitude and service mindset of top-performing retail sales professionals and stay motivated even during challenging times.
  • Approach customers with the most effective opening lines and opening moves and overcome the “I’m just looking” customer.
  • Ask probing questions in a logical sequence to better assess customer needs and make better recommendations.
  • Make more effective demonstrations by selling the value the customer wants and creating desire for ownership.
  • Cross-sell and up-sell additional items and construct a Trial Close (also known as the Assumptive Add-On Close).
  • Anticipate common objections and respond to: “I’ll think about it”, “It costs too much”, “I’ll have to ask my partner” and others.
  • Recognise buying signals, use basic closing techniques and handle last-minute requests for discounts. 
  • Prevent (and overcome) buyer’s remorse, confirm the sale and request another visit.
